Recently, I have been exploring new things, taking responsibilities, and enjoying the gift of nature.

Being that I was brought up in Nigeria, a country in the western part of Africa, I didn't have the chance to enjoy some fruits and foods that were grown in other continents.

I guess this is normal because some plants grow better on some kind of soil. It could be that the climatical condition is not favourable for the production of the plants. Truthfully, numerous elements contribute to this.

Living in Italy has exposed me to some new things. Unfortunately, living in Italy has denied me access to those yummy foods and fruits I was raised with.

Something I'Chamomileinteresting is the Chamomile. Chamomile smells lovely and tastes fabulous. I had a great deal of Chamomile tea in winter.

I think I got addicted to Chamomile tea when I went through a month in the hospital.  I was served chamomile tea during the evening after dinner.  It was so reviving and soothing.

Now my hospital days are over; I am feeling much better. I am supposed to visit the hospital daily for Physiotherapy and rehabilitation. However, I had to skip this exercise because the hospital is super far from where I live.

With the help of my father-in-law, after lunch each day, we go out to walk for a minimum of three hours and a maximum of five hours. It was tough at the beginning, but after some while, I got used to it.

All of this happened in the summer of 2018.

The Red Tea Detox

One afternoon, we went about our normal business andChamomile a strong smell of Chamomile which intrigued me.

After taking some steps further, we found a big field where Chamomile Plants were developing. The area was so yellow; with thanks to the sun, it was glowing. At that point, I knew I wanted some.

It was challenging to convince my father-in-law to join me, but he accepted anyway.

Our first mission in the chamomile camp wasn't a success. We didn't have the foggiest idea of how to pick or even process it.

After the day's training, we asked friends and family for recommendations and advice about the chamomile plant. We got help, as they gave us some valuable information on how to go about picking some Chamomile. For some reasons, seeking help from youTube videos did not cross my mind.

We returned to the field weeks later only to find that the field has been cleaned. We were luckyChamomileanother field with Chamomile, but it was not as gracious as the first one I saw. Of course, I picked some, and you are about to leChamomileo make the most of Chamomile, maybe!
I
In case you are unaware, Chamomile is derived from the Asteraceae group of plants. When dried, they can be utilized for various herbal and natural remedies and poultices, as well as for making some yummy tea.

Studies, it has been discovered that Chamomile Roman species of Chamomile have the most grounded convergences of beneficial compounds and supplements.

To Pick the Chamomile plants from the field, we used scissors to cut through half of the Chamomile plant. That was not the best thing to do. In our situation, it was the best option we had.

Usually, it is ideal for picking the yellow part from the plant. Considering that we were in a big field filled with weeds and Chamomile plants, the only thing on our mind was to cut what we wanted and leave before an animal attacks us. By the way, we were already dealing with some sun flies which were having us for lunch.

If you aren't a fraidy cat like us, you can stick to picking the yellow portion.

To Prepare the Chamomile for consumption. It is ideal for letting them dry but not under direct contact with the suChamomileunately, I kept my Chamomile directly under the sun for days. I don't know why I did that, but I did it anyway.

Dried Chamomile Plants.

After some days it became super dry to the point that when you touch the chamomile plant, the flowers crumble.

In my opinion, my experience with the chamomile plate was a fail. I don't regret anything, after allChamomilea lot of processed Chamomile in my possession. This was a project I did for Chamomilef it.

After the Chamomile was dry, I proceed to separate the stem from the flower. This process was not easy also. I spent a lot of time rubbing them against themselves till they fall off easily.

Afterwards, I packed them in a tea bag and stored them. This was one serious work.

If you plan to process your chamomile tea at home. Make a point to pick the flowers just so you don't have to go through the lengthy process like I did.

Try not to dry your plant directly under the sun. As should be evident from the image, my chamomile plant are excessively dried and shrank. WChamomiledoubt, we need the Chamomile dried but what we don't want is to have them shrink.

My chamomile from tasting the Chamomile is that; the ones I picked and handled myself are more grounded in taste compared to the ones I got from the store. The ones I processed a home had a bitter after taste. I honestly can't tell if it is a positive or negative thing. The Chamomile tea I have at home is fragile in taste.

AddChamomile, the scent of the Chamomile I had at home was more intense compared with the ones I picked from the field.

I honestly can't tell what the explanation behind this distinction is. If you have any idea, do well to let me know in the comment section.
