My Rating: 4/5 Stars
This book is more than just a story of redemption and a second chance. I saw it as the journey of a couple who needed their relationship to survive, even when different forces were tearing them apart. Deb and Sandy Palmer share their relationship journey, growth, and struggles in this raw and honest account.
For me, Deb's sincere desire for positive change made it possible for her to find a path toward healing. It is, undeniably, a beautiful story of transformation.
A Personal Struggle with the Narrative
However, I must be honest: I could not bring myself to finish reading this material. The situations and struggles that led to this couple's need for redemption were deeply painful to read. Thankfully, I have never dealt with someone facing Deb's specific issues, but hearing her story did not just melt my heart—it destroyed my willingness to continue. I learned that they made it, and I know from other reviews that everything worked out for their good, which is a relief.
Who Should Read This?
I would recommend this book, especially to people struggling with their own demons. Sometimes it feels like there is no hope. For a second, I forgot Deb wrote this book alongside her sweetheart, and I feared she would not survive her circumstances. But God’s thoughts for us are of good and not of evil.
As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
I am so glad that Deb and Sandy Palmer are experiencing that hope and a future together.
